Glen Arden’s Progression System, which is used camp-wide, allows each camper to progress at her own pace within her chosen activities.

There are five levels of proficiency, beginning with basic skills and knowledge and progressing through expert level. As campers learn and perfect new skills, they progress through these five levels. In addition to the time they have during activity periods, time is set aside during each afternoon during which campers can choose activities to visit again. All campers are recognized for their achievements each week at Council Fire, which provides them with an ongoing sense of accomplishment.

“The real standout for me is the progression system which challenges girls to master different activities at their own pace, until they can teach it to others. Our daughter looks forward to mastering horsemanship and rock climbing in future years so that when she’s older she can teach others to ride and lead climbing expeditions!”
