Canoeing & Kayaking

Our campers learn the basics of paddling on our in-camp lake. The learning continues with numerous out of camp trips to the nearby Green River and Lake Summit. After paddling these rivers and demonstrating required skills, campers have the option to sign up for trips on other area rivers, including the French Broad and Tuckasegee. Each summer Glen Arden also sends more advanced paddlers to participate in the Camp Cup on the Nantahala River Olympic course.
